Ryan Braun admits to PED use, issues apology

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  Milwaukee Brewers suspended slugger Ryan Braun is breaking his silence regarding his suspension for using performance enhancing drugs.  Braun issued a lengthy apology, detailing which PED's he used during his MVP season in 2011.  He said he took a "cream and a lozenge" at the end of the year as he was trying to heal from a nagging injury.  He said "it was a huge mistake for which I am deeply ashamed and I compounded the situation by not admitting my mistakes immediately."

Braun was suspended in late July for the remainder of the season, which was 65 games.  He also apologized for comments he made at a press conference after having his previous 50-game suspension overturned in February 2012. Braun said "at that time, I still didn't want to believe that I had used a banned substance."  He added that he "felt wronged and attacked, but looking back now, I was the one who was wrong."
