Report: Stones Strike Tour Deal With AEG Live

A Rolling Stones tour appears to be closer to fruition.  Pollstar.com says the group has hammered out a deal with AEG Live to launch an 18-date arena tour throughout North America in May and June.  The Stones were originally said to be working with tour promoter Paul Dainty and Virgin Music, which the band used to stage their shows in London, New York, and New Jersey last fall.  The group will reportedly hit major markets on the tour, and play multiple nights in a number of cities.  The Stones are expected to make an official tour announcement in early April.

The trek would mark the Stones' return to the road following a six-year hiatus.  The band's last extended outing was their "A Bigger Bang" tour, a two-year run that began in August 2005 and came to a close in August 2007.
