Wildfire Season is Becoming Very Expensive

CALIFORNIA -- This has been a costly summer for fighting wildfires. According to the National Interagency Fire Center, spending has now exceeded $1 billion for the year.

That number is expected to go up, since the fire season in California and the rest of the West is far from over.

Officials with the Fire Center say resources nationally are stretched to the limit right now, and they are unable to coordinate all the requests for crews and equipment.
