What if the flu shot wasn't a shot at all, but rather a wearable patch?
Researchers at Georgia Tech have already started testing a patch on folks in the Atlanta area.
It didn't have the vaccine in it yet, but the process met with positive results. Janis Louie with California's health department is excited about the possibility of a flu vaccine patch.
"I think it's great to continue to explore different ways to vaccinate people," Louie said.
Georgia Tech researchers are hoping to test a patch with the vaccine early next year.
One of the major benefits is not having to schedule a flu shot - just get the patch, and apply it at your convenience.
"The more options the better for getting people vaccinated," she said.
What does the patch look like?
