U.S. Steel Temporarily Halts Steel-Making Due to Ice

US Steel has temporarily halted steel-making at its massive Northwestern mill because the ice-covered Great Lakes have cut its access to vital iron ore and other raw materials.

US Coast Guard Petty Officer Levi Read says 'What we're looking at is the experts are saying, there will probably be ice breaking well into May.'

Read says the 40 inch thick ice will be a problem for at least a few more weeks.
