Small Earthquake Rattles Berkeley

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake rattled some nerves in the East Bay. The U.S.G.S. says the quake was centered two miles east-northeast of Berkeley. It struck at 9:26 last night. Some scientists believe the Hayward Fault Zone, which runs through Berkeley and other densely-populated cities, will unleash a quake around a six-point-seven-magnitude within the next 30 years.
