Sac Man Pleads Not Guilty to Opening Door Midflight

A Sacramento man is pleading not guilty in a Nebraska courtroom on charges that he tried to open an airplane exit door in flight earlier this month.

Authorities say Joshua Carl Lee Suggs was subdued by other passengers on the April 13, flight between Chicago and Sacramento, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in Omaha, Nebraska.

KCRA says Suggs remains on suicide watch and his attorney has requested a mental evaluation.

Suggs faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
