Placer County Residents Facing Increased Conservation Requirements

Some Placer County residents may soon be asked to conserve even more water.   Different water districts get their supplies from different areas and the Placer County Water Agency is now considering declaring an emergency of its own.

"Our primary source of supply is Pacific Gas & Electric Company" said Einer Maisch with the PCWA.

He added that supplies from a utility reservoir may be reduced 60%. They'll try and pump more from the American River and activate groundwater wells but homeowners in Lincoln and Granite Bay will likely be asked to cut back.

"My expectation is we're going to be somewhere between 20-30% on our treated water customers," predicted Maisch.

The agency serves about 150,000 customers.  A meeting on all this will be held next week.
