New Standards Make School Lunch Healthier

Kids are being told it's for their own good, but school lunches might not taste very good next year. New legislation just signed helps California comply with Federal school lunch standards. That means subbing pizza for papaya and burritos with brussel sprouts. Parents, teachers, and school officials are adding detail to food labels and lowering allowable amounts of calories and trans fat. The new law goes into effect January first, 2014.
