Soccer moms are packing heat -- as new statistics say more women are carrying concealed weapons.
Thirty percent of all filings for concealed weapons permits are women. Joe Deaser, owner of Roseville's Capitol Gun Club, says he's seeing a significant jump in purchases by women.
"Our club is over half female, and I can tell you that we've had several women in our club jocking to get their [concealed carry weapons permit] in the last few months," Deaser said.
Deaser says the clubs classes are packed.
"We had two all-female CCW classes in the last three months, in fact, just to get women trained and up and ready," he said.
He says cuts in law enforcement budgets coupled with a spike in crime, including many of the mass shooting incidents have inspired women to take their protection in their own hands.
