SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento County Coroner's office is now part of an investigation into the Thursday death of a man who police had just taken into custody.
Ruben Juarez, 42, died near the police substation on Franklin Boulevard.
Officer Doug Morse says they found the man "rolling around on the ground. He was acting very strange and his behvior was extremely odd," Morse said.
Officers put handcuffs on the man and then immediately noticed that he was unresponsive. Pronounced dead yesterday at Kaiser Hospital South, the body was taken to Coroner Greg Wyatt.
"Today we did an autopsy -- did not find any evidence of fatal trauma," Wyatt said.
Cause and manner of death have yet to be determined. Toxicology analysis and further examination is pending.
