Kraft and Reser's Issue Food Recalls

A popular snack food is being recalled due to "premature spoilage." Kraft Foods is recalling string cheese and string cheese twists after several consumers reported the products became discolored and spoiled.

The affected Kraft and Polly-O cheese products have code dates from Oct. 25 through Feb. 11, 2014. More than 700,000 cases of the cheese were shipped in the U.S.

Reser’s Fine Foods is also expanding its recall of chicken, ham and beef products to include all products produced between Sept. 5 and Oct. 9, 2013.

This is in addition to the 22,800 pounds of product recalled on Oct. 22, 2013. The products are being recalled because of a possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced.
