Governor Steps In Again to Prevent Further Transit Strikes

Governor Jerry Brown is stepping in once again to prevent a transit strike in the Bay Area -- this time it involves bus drivers.

The governor said he plans to ask a judge to order a 60-day cooling off period for both sides after an advisory board found that a strike by Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District bus drivers would seriously disrupt public transportation and harm public safety.

Brown called on the board to meet after the drivers threatened a walkout last week.
