FBI agents captured a Citrus Heights man who left the country to escape attempted murder charges. They caught up with the 21-year old in the central Mexican city of Queretaro and turned him over to Sacramento police Tuesday night to face charges in a 2011 gang-related shooting.
FBI spokeswoman Gina Swankie says they've been on his tail for a while,
"We've had our unlawful flight to avoid prosecution warrant for just over a year. We were able to locate him within a year's time and return him back."
One person was hit by gunfire in the late summer incident on 14th avenue that reportedly began when residents of a home in the 2800-block verbally engaged the suspects and displayed gang signs.
The Sacramento County District Attorney is handling the case of Jose Manuel Aguilera.
