SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento's vote to allow big box stores in the city limits is on the books and with it controversy from critics.
On a 6-2 vote the Sacramento City Council has repealed the "superstore ordinance" that has been in place since 2006. Councilmembers say the ordinance had to go since it was letting tax revenue slip away. But critics say the vote was not in the interest of the people.
Many feel big box retailers got a glad hand after donating millions to the campaigns and charities of City Council members and the mayor himself.
