The California Office of Traffic Safety says recent studies find that more people than ever are driving under the influence of drugs.
Chris Cochran with the State Office of Traffic Safety said Sacramento County will get $2 million in state grants to crackdown on drug impaired drivers.
The money comes from federal highway funds, Cochran said.
The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office will get $1.2 million to fund specialized prosecutors and $740,000 will go to Sacramento County for drug testing equipment.
Cochran said starting in January, the state will begin releasing statistics on people who get busted driving while on drugs.
