There's another whale in the Sacramento effort to buy the Kings and build a downtown arena, actually there are three of them.
Last week it was announced that Silicon Valley entrepreneur Vivek Ranadive had joined Mark Mastrov and Ron Burkle on the team of buyers hoping to keep the Kings in Sacramento. Last night Ranadive himself announced that he had invited the Jacobs family of Qualcomm fame into the group. The three brothers head up the international high tech company, which earned more than $19 million last year.
Ranadive says Paul, Jeff and Hal Jacobs aren't necessary to compete with Seattle, but it just adds heft to the bid.
