Monterey Bay Aquarium Taking "Great White Shark" Break

Monterey Bay Aquarium Taking

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is not planning to collect any great white sharks this year. The "Santa Cruz Sentinel" say the aquarium is taking a break due to a push by conservationists to place the great white on the state and federal endangered species list. A 2011 study from UC Davis show only 219 great white sharks live off of the Central Coast. Aquarium officials say they still plan to do tagging research.
