Kings Announce New Assistant Coach

In a widely anticipated move, the Kings announced that Brendan Malone was joining the Kings coaching staff as an assistant coach on son Michael Malone's staff. The Malones now become only the second father son duo to hold the title of NBA head coach after Bill and Eric Musselman, ironically the latter a former Kings Head Coach.

The head coaching job here in Sacramento is the first head coaching job in the NBA for son Michael while papa bear Brendan Malone, a long time NBA assistant coach, was the Toronto Raptors first head coach and also served as interim head coach in Cleveland back in the 2004-05 season.

Michael Malone commented, "Aside from the benefits of having a trusted family member by my side, he's a talented coach that brings more than 25 years of invaluable NBA experience to Sacramento."
